Nucleus Research and Baseline Magazine Team to Honor Bottom-Line Achievements at First Annual Technology ROI Forum

Top Tech Leaders, Editors, Analysts, and Business Executives to Gather at Premier Event Focused on Technology Return on Investment

Entries have closed for the first annual Technology ROI Awards, which are presented by Baseline Magazine, a Ziff Davis Media publication, and Nucleus Research — and the volume of submissions has surpassed projections. The awards recognize the achievements of companies that have achieved outstanding business results from their technology investments. Award winners will be announced at the Baseline Magazine/Nucleus Research Technology ROI Forum on June 10, 2003, at the InterContinental The Barclay New York Hotel. A limited number of seats are still available, with attendee registration details available at www.roiawards.com.

Baseline magazine provides senior business leaders and technology executives with practical reporting and tools for deploying information systems and determining their returns. Helping readers maximize their companies' technology investments is at the heart of the publication's mission.

Nucleus Research is the first industry analyst firm to blend "Big Four" financial analysis with comprehensive technology expertise to deliver 100% impartial return-on-investment (ROI) data and financial analysis services to organizations worldwide.

The Technology ROI Forum is aimed at senior technology and financial executives and will feature exclusive panel sessions discussing the specifics behind the award-winning technology projects. Nucleus Research CEO Ian Campbell, Nucleus Research Vice President of Research Rebecca Wettemann, and Baseline Editor-in-Chief Tom Steinert-Threlkeld will lead the panels. Senior executives attending the event can expect to learn directly from technology leaders about the strategies, cost initiatives, and other critical programs that led to their award-winning successes.

"Technology vendors have tried to seize the term 'ROI' through simplistic calculators and slick marketing materials. These awards will recognize the real returns companies have earned from their technology," said Campbell. "And this message is clearly resonating by the volume of entries we've received. We're thrilled by the response to the ROI Awards and are looking forward to honoring the winners and covering important topics with the senior executives at the event."

Award Categories and Selection Process

Awards will be presented for Best Deployment, Productivity, Intangible Benefits, Innovation, and Project Justification. The Best Deployment category will recognize projects that demonstrate the greatest ROI over a three-year period in Enterprise Planning, Customer Service, Business Intelligence, Application Integration, and Collaboration, with a Grand Prize for the project among these that shows the highest ROI.

Baseline editors, Nucleus Research analysts, and the combined Technology ROI Award Executive Board will select finalists from the entries received. Each finalist organization will undergo an in-depth analysis, including interviews with system users to verify all claimed benefits. Nucleus Research analysts will present entrants’ submissions as well as any supporting documents to the Executive Board for final judging in May 2003.
