Avoiding spills on the Oracle PeopleSoft JD Edwards merger

Notes and Reports
June 2003 - Report D56

THE BOTTOM LINE

Merging PeopleSoft and J.D.Edwards would have a mixed impact on customers: It could help reduce the cost of integrating their respective solutions, but efforts to synchronize the companies' sales and development efforts might force new expenses on existing customers. If, instead, Oracle succeeds in its hostile bid to take over PeopleSoft, enterprise IT decision makers will have graver concerns - like disappearing product support.
