THE BOTTOM LINE

The SAP acquisition of Business Objects may be a huge transaction, but it will have little near-term impact on end users. The only users who will be directly impacted are Business Object users that aren't running SAP today, who may want to begin thinking about an exit strategy. Even for them, given the slow rate of change and product development at SAP, any change that can impact users is a long way off.
