Design optimization management - reducing the risks

Notes and Reports
December 2003 - Report D132

THE BOTTOM LINE

The potential benefits of design optimization management are compelling: fewer product failures, reduced time to market, and increased manager productivity. Mounting concern over the risks of outsourcing and the costs of development will drive more interest in DOM - but management support for a more open and standardized design process is key to achieving returns from the technology.
