IBM acquires Bowstreet

Notes and Reports
January 2006 - Report F131

THE BOTTOM LINE

By acquiring former partner Bowstreet, IBM fills the dashboard and portlet gaps in its integration offering. It also improves its already strong offerings in the areas of portals and composite applications. But since all of these features were available to customers through IBM's partnership network anyway, it remains to be seen how much value this acquisition gives to customers of either IBM or Bowstreet.
