Picking a Portal

Notes and Reports
February 2001 - Report B5

THE BOTTOM LINE

Portal technology can help organizations gain significant returns from improved information organization and access, increased worker productivity, and improved task and project management. However, they can also be expensive to build and manage -- high development costs can kill potential returns from a portal. In the evolving portal market, the best strategy is to focus on portal technology that maximizes ROI in the short term and can be improved upon (or thrown out and replaced) in the near future.
