Here are a few tips to help get the most out of our library search capabilities. Q:How do I search by a keyword? A:You can perform a keyword search two ways:
Q:How do I search for an exact phrase? A: If you enter multiple words, the search engine will return research documents that contain all of those terms in the title or description. If you want to locate documents that contain exactly what your typed (order included), use double quotes around the phrase. Example: Business Case will return research that include the terms Business AND Case. "Business Case" will return research that has the exact term "Business Case". Q:How do I perform a Boolean search? A: Our search engine supports four boolean operators - AND OR NOT () - which are described below:
Q:Do you support automatic word stemming? A: No - we believe that the combination of Boolean Search plus Filter topics provides significantly better search capabilities than other competitors offer. We do support wildcard searches, so a search for knowledge* will return research containing the words knowledge, knowledgestorm, knowledgebase, etc. Q:How can I further refine my search? A: In addition to text search, our search engine supports two additional filtering mechanisms - Filter by Section and Filter by Category
Q:I love my search - how do I save it?
A:
You can save your custom search two ways - by bookmark and by RSS feed. An RSS feed provides the benefit of updating your RSS feed with new research that meets your search criteria. Additionally, Nucleus Research clients can manage their saved bookmarks when logged in.
Q:how do I retrieve / modify my saved searches? A: When you choose to save a search, a local cookie is generated on your machine as well as a static link. Typically, that link looks like this http://nucleusresearch.com/research/search/bookmark/number/ where /number/ is a custom generated URL for your purpose. If you save the link using your browser or bookmarking service, you can return to that saved search at a later time. General users can view and edit their saved searches by clicking on the "edit saved searches" link in the search sidebar module. Note that only searches created on this machine will be visible. Logged in Nucleus Research clients can manage their saved searches on any browser. Q:I have a question that isn't answered here! A: Feel free to give client services a call @ +1 781 416 2900 during normal business hours (EST) and we'd be happy to answer your question.
