IBM acquires Lighthouse Security Group

On August 11, 2014, IBM announced their acquisition of the Lighthouse Security Group from Lighthouse Computer Services. Lighthouse Security is a Rhode Island based division specializing in protecting cloud based data accessed through mobile devices. The acquisition comes on the heels of IBM’s purchase of CrossIdeas, another provider of identify and access management security software. The combination of the two companies expands IBM’s security offerings and is yet another sign that security is becoming a problem most companies cannot tackle on their own.
