Looking outside SAP for the epicenter of HCM

SAP faces an urgent need to modernize its in-house solution for time and attendance. Today, a native application whose origins predate SAP’s acquisition of SuccessFactors hampers the suite’s competitiveness at the epicenter of human capital management (HCM), which comprises not only time and attendance, but also other elements of workforce management (WFM), core HR, payroll, and benefits administration. Though SAP says it is strengthening its in-house functionality for time and attendance, the vendor has this year formed alliances underscoring a need to turn elsewhere in order to satisfy users’ need for it.
