Performance management becoming asymmetrical

Performance management has lagged technology’s promise, and much of this has been attributable to employers, who have for years held fast to conducting annual performance reviews. The reality is that this model saps productivity and dissuades employee engagement. With social media and big data, technology has reached a point where it can lead users out of this darkness, but vendors’ challenge is to translate goal-based, social collaboration–driven, continual performance management to dollars saved.
