SanDisk enters the enterprise storage shark tank

Experiencing slower growth and tightening margins, consumer flash storage manufacturer SanDisk has increased its commitment to the enterprise storage market by acquiring flash array maker Fusion-io. While this is good news for enterprise data storage customers who can leverage SanDisk’s entry into the market, the company must overcome deeply entrenched competitors such as EMC, HP, IBM, and Hitachi Data Systems and prove it can develop an enterprise class sales organization to be considered a serious alternative to traditional enterprise storage companies.
