Technology Value Matrix First Half 2015: Supply Chain Design

The market for supply chain design software was shaken up this past year by Llamasoft’s debut of a cloud-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool. Until then vendors had generally sold these type of applications with licenses plus add-on maintenance fees rather than on the basis of a subscription. The advent of cloud-based subscriptions for supply chain design tools should prompt more companies to undertake periodic examination of their supply chain configuration.
