IBM, Oracle and Host Analytics continue to fight for industry lead; Anaplan joins the leaders quadrant while Adaptive Insights and SAP lose ground

BOSTON — March 23, 2016 — Usability has emerged as a key differentiator among Corporate Performance Management (CPM) applications according to the Nucleus Research H1 2016 Technology Value Matrix release today. Businesses are increasingly leveraging CPM for an enterprise-wide metrics-driven approach, which in turn means more people across the organization need access.

“Integrated analytics for CPM has hit a complexity tipping point as organizations are demanding easier ways to understand their own business processes without the hassle of significant training requirement. Given the value CPM can deliver across the enterprise, usability has now become a strong differentiator,” said Anne Moxie

Businesses have been looking beyond the traditional financial benefits of CPM and branching out beyond the accounting department. They are now looking for broader access to applications via better usability, including easier employee ramp-up time and solid productivity advantages. This allows for more rapid rates of adoption and delivers more value over the long term.

“CPM isn’t just for accountants anymore. We’re seeing broader use throughout organizations which in turn is leading to greater adoption rates. This is making usability an important factor in current and future development trends. The end goal here is to achieve greater efficiency with analytics integration, more effectively empowering end-users,” said Anne Moxie, analyst at Nucleus Research.
