Inventory Optimization (IO) tools must become simpler to use so supply chain planners don’t need to be data experts to leverage the software’s full capabilities and get a quick payback. Although IO tools represent a proven form of predictive analytics in supply chain management, vendors are going to have to improve application usability by adding visualizations, dashboards and notifications to increase sales of this software, especially in the market for companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenue.
