It’s no surprise that traditional systems integrators (SIs) are challenged to adapt their business model to an increasingly cloud world – much as traditional software vendors have attempted to shift with varying success. Although the recent spate of acquisitions and investments by players such as Accenture and Capgemini have insulated them in the short term from significant revenue losses, they’ll need to transform themselves further to compete against native cloud service providers that are delivering similar projects with greater agility at less than half the cost.
