Puppet Labs throws hat into software defined storage ring

In yet another sign of the technological disruption taking place in the data center, Puppet Labs is entering the software defined storage and software defined network markets. The company’s entry into these new spaces is backed by some of the most successful companies in technology including Google, Kleiner Perkins, and VMware. Their support of a small open source software company shows the game has changed and no vendor’s future, not matter how well established, is secure. Customers should recognize the opportunity this creates in negotiations with new and existing suppliers.
