April 5, 2016

Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce.com continue to lead the pack, SugarCRM and IMS Health shift up in usability, functionality

BOSTON – April 5, 2016 – Nucleus Research has released the H1 2016 Technology Value Matrix for customer relationship management (CRM). With all leading vendors making significant product announcements since the last Matrix, recent advances in AI/machine learning, more useful IoT innovations and the rise of mobile micro apps are providing vendors with new areas to differentiate themselves and attract new business.

“Normally vendors look to monetize current trends, but the CRM space is so competitive that strides to differentiate have moved into the future. Leading vendors are starting to bet more on IoT, advanced AI and new trends like micro and disposable apps that are just now coming into their own,” said Rebecca Wettemann, VP of research at Nucleus Research.

The Value Matrix also shows Oracle and Salesforce.com reaching down from the enterprise and pushing more into the mid-sized business market, an area where Microsoft Dynamics has been strong. This signifies increased competition within the CRM industry as well as a growing awareness of the growth opportunity the small to mid-size business (SMB) market represents.
