Leadership Change at IBM? AI Stealing Your Job? Analytics to Slim Down? Nucleus Research Reveals 2018 Technology Predictions

November 7, 2017

Building on 95 percent accuracy rate, Nucleus identifies 10 trends for 2018

Nucleus Research predicts a number of critical changes for the tech industry in 2018 as the pace of development continues to accelerate. This includes a change in leadership at IBM after 22 consecutive quarters of declining revenue as well as a realignment of the workforce caused by AI and automation, Nucleus forecasts.

“The competition has never been higher as the pace of development is only accelerating. This is bringing longer-term trends to a head, such as displacement of jobs by automation and a renewed focus on work experience, not your GPA. And it’s forcing underperforming companies to make painful changes (looking at you Big Blue!). Conversely, this rapid business cycle is creating tremendous opportunities for agile companies, such as Infor, that can keep pace and deliver value,” said Ian Campbell, CEO of Nucleus Research.
