Teradata launches VantageCloud Lake

On August 29th, Teradata announced its new cloud data lake offering, VantageCloud Lake Edition, to facilitate a broader range of analytics and data science use cases. This marks Teradata’s first release built on its new cloud-native architecture, complete with low-cost object storage, elastic multi-cluster compute, and extended governance to support a broader range of customers and workloads. As Teradata expands VantageCloud Lake’s availability over the next year, Nucleus expects the vendor to capture market share from Snowflake and Databricks, especially with larger organizations where shadow systems, cost, and scale are concerns.
