Benefit case study: OvalEdge at a private European bank
In private banking, data governance has moved from good practice to regulatory obligation. The European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) now sets formal requirements for how institutions manage their data estates. To explore the value of data governance in this scenario, Nucleus interviewed a European bank as they moved to modern data governance on OvalEdge shifting from governance through Excel sheets and CSV files. Since deploying the platform, data-related business requests to IT have fallen 30 to 40 percent, and finance finds 80 to 90 percent of its monthly regulatory reporting data via self-service directly within the catalog. The governed catalog now feeds the bank’s internal AI lab, and Nucleus expects the value to compound as OvalEdge extends further across business units to encompass more of the European bank’s enterprise context.
