Benefit case study: Fluent Commerce at a European retailer

September 24, 2026 - Research 26180

A European general merchandise retailer processing millions of orders a year estimated it was losing more than $30M annually to order returns, cancellations, and fulfillment operations, and could not say where inside its own systems the money was going. Its enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and legacy applications each held a separate view of stock, and inventory updates were processed in batches every 30 minutes. After deploying Fluent Commerce as its order management system (OMS) in about three months, order processing fell by about 99 percent from roughly 120 minutes to one to three minutes, inventory latency improved by 60 percent, and inventory lookups fell by about 90 percent. Employee effort tied to order analysis and processing fell by about 50 percent within a year. The retailer reported a 20 percent revenue increase attributed to Fluent Commerce, and during a nationwide holiday event, it sold roughly 80M items across 48 hours with no downtime. The places the money had been going are now the places it is measured.
