Nucleus HCM Value Matrix finds SAP, Oracle Maintain Leadership While Innovators Gain Ground
November 14, 2013Latest Value Matrix Report Identifies vendor shift from point applications to focus on hire-to-retire solutions
BOSTON – November 14, 2013 – Nucleus Research released the H2 2013 Technology Value Matrix for Human Capital Management (HCM) software. After an 18 month cycle of vendors developing, acquiring and partnering to fill ‘hire to retire’ gaps within their portfolios, the Value Matrix shows leaders are starting to deliver more holistic solutions to support the entire employee lifecycle.
Nucleus also found that cloud, mobile, social capabilities and analytics are the areas that most differentiate leaders from others in this space. Leaders in the current Value Matrix include Oracle, SAP SuccessFactors, Ultimate Software, Infor, SumTotal Systems and Halogen.
“Nucleus expects that analytics and social capabilities will be a focus for the next six months as vendors continue to round out their capabilities across the employee lifecycle. We also expect that point solutions will increasingly be merged into broader portfolios and best-of-breed applications will dominate the market,” said Zach Chertok, analyst at Nucleus Research.
In addition to innovations by smaller players such as Halogen, long-time market players including Infor, Ultimate, ADP, and IBM have either announced new solutions reflecting changing market demands or expanded their portfolios to address growing market opportunities.
