Cegedim breaks into leaders quadrant, Infor Epiphany leaps ahead in usability

BOSTON – September 18, 2013 – Nucleus Research released the 2013 second half Technology Value Matrix for CRM, finding many vendors making significant investments in mobile capabilities and streamlining user interfaces for more productive use. Mobile platforms have been a significant push for vendors as they identify opportunities not just for internal CRM users but for customer-facing applications as well.

Salesforce.com continues to trend upward, widening its lead against Oracle and other competing vendors while Cegedim’s recent product updates have pushed it into the Leaders’ Quadrant for the first time by gaining significant ground in usability. Significant enhancements in Infor Epiphany’s user interface and in-context analytics capabilities bring it to the top tier of usability rankings.

The Value Matrix includes both current positioning and expected trending of each vendor based on Nucleus’s current view of products and roadmaps.

“With many vendors offering core functionality today, leaders are looking to usability and productivity as the next frontier for differentiation – and much of that is happening with mobile capabilities.” said Rebecca Wettemann, VP of research at Nucleus Research, “Significant market changes since the last Matrix, the rapid cadence of new releases, and the increasing willingness of customers to reconsider their CRM strategy continue to make this a very competitive market where no vendors can rest on their laurels.”

The Value Matrix is based on functionality and usability, the two core measures that Nucleus has found indicate an application’s ability to deliver initial ROI and, ultimately, maximum value over time. For more information go to nucleusresearch
