Major Supermarket Chain Achieves 1,280% ROI with Siterra On-Demand Lease Management Platform

Cuts lease-related fees and proactively manages lease renewal practices

BOSTON – January 6, 2009 – Nucleus Research analysts have independently examined the deployment of the Siterra Lease Management platform at a major supermarket chain to find a rapid return on investment (ROI) of 1,280% with payback in just one month.

The supermarket chain operates 146 stores, some with fueling stations, on the east coast. With more than 200 leases for its locations and logistical facilities, the company decided to reevaluate how it was supporting its real estate management staff. Management of leases is critical to maintaining access to stores and minimizing real estate costs by ensuring that it complies with all the terms of its leases and manages lease renewal options properly. To support its team responsible for lease management, the company had an on-premise lease management solution that no longer met the companies growing needs and could only support seven users at a time. The chain explored several options for a new system.

The company selected the Siterra Lease Management platform to store lease data, properly time lease renegotiations, accurately pay landlords and meet the chain’s overall store-space requirements. The on-demand solution was easy to deploy and provided solid benefits, including improved lease renewals, reduced lease fees and a decrease in staffing needs.

“The ROI was very high and the payback a short one month period, both because the solution was on demand, and because it helped dramatically reduce lease fees and penalties” said David O’Connell, senior analyst, Nucleus Research.
