40 percent of cloud users are not upgrading ECM

February 13, 2018 - Research S32

More than 60 percent of ECM on-premises and 40 percent of cloud/hybrid users are not using the most current version of the software. Upgrading by cloud users is not significantly higher than legacy/on-premises users as expected, given the difficulties associated with on-premises upgrades and one would expect that cloud clients would be more inclined to upgrade. Nucleus reviewed multiple case studies and interviewed end-users as we look at functionality and usability as key drivers of return on investment (ROI) to determine why customers are not taking advantage of vendor investments of software upgrades.
