Configure, price, quote software (CPQ) was developed to streamline the quote generation process while maintaining accuracy and remaining compliant with internal standards. Within the last decade, CPQ has cemented itself as a valuable solution within the Software-as-a-Solution (SaaS) ecosystem for its role in expediting the entire lead-to-cash sales cycle. Today, the market has been virtually saturated by a few large players able to leverage their existing platforms to deliver CPQ as an add-on to their existing customer relationship management (CRM) products. These solutions were developed to maximize market share by addressing customers’ fundamental needs. While a basic CPQ is sufficient for most commercial products, a segment of CPQ vendors aim to deliver specialized solutions to address the complex needs of customers in overlooked verticals.
