Cutting through the noise in cloud IaaS

February 27, 2020 - Research U25

With the widespread availability of inexpensive hardware, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) options, no- and low-code development tools, and open source code libraries, application development has never been easier or more approachable. At first, this convenience came at a price – hastily built, and often lower-quality, applications flooded public marketplaces, lacking adequate security protocols, violating user privacy, and in some cases exposing thousands of customer data records. Organizations have since taken steps to address these concerns, most often by partnering with a cloud vendor to help improve the security and performance of applications. Migrating application workloads from legacy self-managed systems to a managed cloud environment reduces IT costs, accelerates development cycles, and improves data security and availability.
