IBM expands partnership with AWS

May 24, 2022 - Research W82

In response to increasing customer demand for cloud deployment flexibility, IBM and AWS have announced a partnership enabling the availability of IBM Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions natively within Amazon AWS. While IBM has historically directly competed with AWS’ cloud services, the partnership marks an increased shift in IBM Cloud’s strategy favoring flexible deployment options for users. Customers looking to implement or expand multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments will benefit from integration between AWS’ offerings and IBM Cloud and its SaaS products. The partnership offers the ability to reduce costs through additional custom pricing options, as well as improve productivity through access to augmented CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage deployment choices.
