Microsoft announces pricing for Exchange 2000

June 7, 2000 - Research A8

For Exchange 2000, Microsoft retains its server and client license (CAL) pricing model with slight increases in both CAL and server prices. Existing customers without an enterprise license agreement should expect to pay between $35 and $50 per user for the upgrade and should keep in mind that the costs of ongoing upgrades and maintenance are likely to continue and even increase. New customers can plan on a sticker price of $80 to $100 per user but with the competitive nature of this market, expect both Lotus and Microsoft to be unwilling to lose a sale to the other based on price alone.
