The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) subscribed to Nearmap to modernize its use of aerial imaging services, improving access to detailed visual data and base maps through Nearmap’s cloud-based service. Moving to the service offering has enabled Massport to receive more frequent image updates that are more easily accessible by technical and non-technical users. Nucleus calculated that Massport was able to lower its overall aerial photography costs by more than 60 percent as compared to its previous method of hiring a traditional aerial firm to collect imagery, while increasing productivity.
