Oracle acquires Acme Packet

Oracle’s $2.1 billion acquisition of Acme Packet, an enterprise session border controller vendor, provides Oracle both with a critical technology for delivering communications delivered through IP networks and significant market share. As the cloud gets bigger, transactions get quicker, and mobility becomes more important, secure delivery represents an important differentiator compared to other telco, cloud, and Big Data vendors.
