Shop and ship is the future of retail

Retail is at a turning point where technology can enable a new model of selling that helps brick-and-mortar retailers shrink inventory and cut costs. Rather than trying to increase store traffic by offering online ordering and in-store pickup, retailers should focus on how they can leverage technology to change the shopping model to give customers more choice while cutting inventory costs. In a survey of customers, Nucleus found 68 percent of respondents would be more likely to shop in a retail store if it offered an alternative shopping model which Nucleus is calling “Shop and Ship”.
