What is driving the success of Power BI

Microsoft brought Power BI, its data analysis and visualization tool, to market nearly 4 years ago and at present it is a market-leading product. Nucleus investigated the factors driving its success in the market and found the four key drivers are: Microsoft’s extensive experience and intellectual property in the business intelligence (BI) space; a focus on usability and the user interface (UI); an active user and developer community; and a disruptive pricing model that encourages user innovation on the platform. By emphasizing factors that drive user adoption, Microsoft has been able to beat competitors like IBM whose focus on advanced capabilities at the expense of ease-of-use may prove to be misguided.
