When less is more in restaurant technology

February 21, 2020 - Research U19

In the restaurant industry, software deployment is often seen as a quick fix for organizational issues such as turnover and inefficient scheduling. However, managers and employees in fast-paced, high-volume hiring environments have little time to acquaint themselves with new software. In examining past deployments in restaurants, Nucleus found that low user adoption causes annual employee productivity to fall by 20 hours and detracts managers from value-add tasks by more than 140 hours per year. Organizations that do not have time to train users require solutions with a high level of usability in order to deliver value.
