Why end users are the AI advantage
As leaders set the stage for AI investments, they often overlook the most important stakeholders. Low levels of end-user adoption have historically collapsed the ROI potential of technology projects, regardless of scope and intentions. The general misunderstanding of and apprehension surrounding AI investments exacerbates the risk of weak usage and negative returns. To understand how this can be mitigated, Nucleus interviewed organizations that have recently deployed AI tools to identify best practices for ensuring that end-users understand the value of the technology beyond the hype and fear. These include starting with lower-risk, high-breadth applications of AI, being transparent about what it can and cannot do, prioritizing an embedded approach, and collecting comprehensive feedback. Overall, boards and executives have gotten AI’s foot in the door, but successful end-user adoption is the only thing that will enable it to deliver on its promises.
