Standalone talent management is dying

This month, during its annual user conference, Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) shared several technological developments. This research note focuses on two: new capabilities in Cornerstone Edge, the vendor’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and the emergence of Cornerstone Link to provide users of CSOD with functionality akin to that of a human resource information system (HRIS) (i.e., core HR). In these areas, the maturation of CSOD’s suite for talent management vindicates Cornerstone-related observations that Nucleus made last year – and shows that talent management as a standalone solution is dying.
