AI writing assistance vendor, Grammarly, recently announced plans to acquire productivity startup, Coda. This move will provide Grammarly users with a full AI-driven productivity and collaboration platform. Nucleus found that implementing comprehensive collaboration solutions can increase employee productivity by 30 to 40 percent, with additional productivity gains stemming from generative and agentic AI features. Niche vendors are currently looking to expand feature breadth to drive incremental value for customers. Overall, Grammarly’s product reinvention will enable it to capitalize on its strength in AI writing assistance, bringing Coda’s Agents and other AI productivity features to not only compete against work management and collaboration platform providers, but also differentiate and recapture market share as generative AI tools continue to flood the market.
