Quinyx cuts store scheduling time by close to 90% for a specialty retailer
Organizations that leave schedule building to frontline managers, with little automation behind them, lose manager time and end up with schedules that drift from demand. A U.S. specialty retailer with about 180 stores faced this with its incumbent scheduling vendor, Deputy, along with slow support that delayed new store setups and configuration changes. The retailer selected Quinyx over its incumbent and other vendors, including Legion. Auto-scheduling, ease of use for store managers, and a lower licensing cost drove the decision, and the retailer rolled Quinyx out to the full fleet in about five months through a peer-led training model. Nucleus found that with Quinyx, store managers reduced weekly schedule writing time by close to 90 percent, to under 15 minutes per store, returning an estimated 16,000 manager hours a year to the sales floor. Auto-scheduling against the weekly forecast also limits manager bias in schedules, and the retailer’s schedule efficiency score, sales per labor hour, and conversion rates rose upon implementation. With hours now set centrally and placed by the system, the retailer has a scheduling foundation it plans to extend to its customer service and distribution operations.
