Aliens and Tinfoil Hats

We’ve published numerous ROI case studies assessing the value of on-demand solutions and there’s no question the math supports the value of the cloud. Low initial investment and expensed versus capitalizes costs make it an easy financial decision compared to on premise. In fact we see very few on-premise decisions in process and no situations where an organization is considering a move from the cloud to on premise. For some niche applications on premise may make sense but for core needs such as CRM, HR/HCM, and Accounting, the end of on premise is upon us. That’s not to say we don’t still run into a small but steadfast group holding onto the notion that on premise is somehow safer. That may have looked like a pragmatic position a few years ago but it’s starting to look like ranting from people that are likely still questioning the moon landings. Large organizations build consensus for a decision but it may be time for management to recognize that the paranoid tinfoil-hat-wearing few may never be satisfied with the cloud.
