Microsoft Windows 8 (yes, again)

We noted our lack of enthusiasm in our posting back in October and Windows 8 has lived up to our expectation of underwhelming the masses. Our internal view here was that Windows 8 was the El Camino of software and represented a compromise that, like the El Camino, made it neither a good car nor a good truck. The difference is that the El Camino is now a sought after classic while Windows 8 will never be. Who in Redmond thought swiping your finger across your desktop screen would be a good idea or that changing the interface again would be a help rather than a training nightmare to every business on the planet? Please Steve, walk over to your usability lab and fire everyone. I’d love to point out the positive points and suggest that minor changes would make Windows 8 into a great operating system but I can’t. From an ROI point of view the right thing to do with Windows 8 might be to pass until Windows 9.
