AWS launches Aurora Serverless

December 12, 2017 - Research R207

At AWS re:Invent, Amazon announced the its new database service Aurora Serverless. Aurora Serverless is the expansion of AWS’s serverless offerings and will make it easier and cheaper to launch relational databases that do not need to process data continuously. As a result, customers will pay only for when the database is in use—while still being able to easily scale up or down as necessary—leading to both direct and indirect savings.
