Databricks open sources Delta Lake

On June 30th, 2022, Databricks announced its intention to open source all Delta Lake innovations, including all of its APIs, with the release of Delta Lake 2.0. With this reinforced focus on open source and open protocol, customers can benefit from a collaborative developer ecosystem and maintain flexibility with escape hatches to avoid vendor lock-in. As Delta Lake further penetrates the market with increasing support from organizations and developer communities, Nucleus expects the adoption of data lakehouse approaches to accelerate, namely the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
