Micro Focus after the spin-merger

October 31, 2017 - Research R187

Nucleus predicted the pattern of mergers and acquisitions in the ECM space, expecting more shrinkage in vendors. The Micro Focus–HPE spin-merger appears to have been successful for customers but will it bring value to the vendor? That remains to be seen. Micro Focus completed its spin-merger with HPE Software in September 2017, after Nucleus completed the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Value Matrix for 2017. Nucleus factored user concerns about service and support post-merger, into HPE’s placement on the matrix. Nucleus followed up with original users interviewed to assess any impact and found that 85 percent of respondents did not notice any disruptions in service or support after the merger.
