Old and new computers alike can be significantly slowed by bloatware and malware, potentially costing organizations millions of dollars. Organizations turn to cybersecurity software to combat malware; however, the software can be so taxing on devices that it lowers overall end-user productivity. Nucleus interviewed IT directors and found that slowed computers take an extra five minutes every hour to complete a task. For midsize organizations with 100 employees and an average salary of $60,000, slowed computers cost $2.2 million every year. For small organizations with 10 employees and an average salary of $45,000, slowed computers cost $164,540 every year.
