Apttus gets a boost

On February 2, Salesforce Ventures led a Series B funding round for Apttus, which raised $41 million. Apttus will be using the investment to build out functionality in specific verticals, develop plans for machine learning, increase international sales and marketing efforts, and further integration of CRM and CPQ solutions, which will drive a more predictable time to value. Salesforce’s investment is effectively picking a winner in its partner ecosystem, and while it may not lead to an acquisition, it will likely make it more difficult for other CPQ vendors to compete.
